The bouquet of this Spätburgunder from Haardt Herzog has a delicate dark forest fruit fragrance with blackberry, black cherry and currant. Its lush body is carried by an elegant tannin structure right through to the multi-layered finish.
2022: James Suckling: 94/100 "A generous German pinot noir with aromas at the dark end of the spectrum, including plenty of licorice and a touch of smoke. Fantastic balance of fine tannins, ripeness and a medium to full body. Long, quite compact finish that suggests this needs more time in the bottle to give its best. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.”
The Haardt Spätburgunder is characterised by the fragrance of fresh forest fruits. It stands out with its elegant vitality and a finely interwoven fruitiness and fades away with a multifaceted tannin structure lasting through the finish.
Dark cherry red in the glass. Intense nose of black cherries, elderberries, freshly ground pepper and bay leaf. The mouth is cool, silky and very fine. Wonderful acidity, terrific freshness, harmonious spiciness with soft tannins. Juicy, almost explosive sour cherry fruit. Perfect balance of fruit, spice and tannin with a firm structure and Burgundian elegance.
